</p><p>Saint Barthelemy was first discovered by Christopher Columbus in the 14th century and he named it for his brother Bartolomeo. The first descendants on the island nation of Saint Barthelemy were the French who settled in the year 1648. Saint Barthelemy is located approximately 125 miles north to the Guadeloupe and it lies near the islands of Saba, Saint Martin and Anguilla. Gustavia is the main town or the capital of the country that acts as a reflection of the Swedish period. Shallow water reefs along with hills and 20 beaches mostly cover the surface of sanint Barthelemy. The climate in the nation is mostly tropical throughout the year with particularly no variations in the temperature. There are two seasons in the country dry and humid.</p><p> The population of Saint Barthelemy was nearly 6,825 according to the 1999 census that had a density of 326 inh per kilometer square. Most of the population in the country is made up by the white ethnic group of people where as there are other ethnic groups like black and Guadeloupe Mestizo in a small minority. The official and primary language spoken is French though English is also considered an important language. Saint Barthelemy has a few of natural resources and their beaches are the most important source. </p><p>
