</p><p>Clipperton Island is a huge coral reef island. This is situated in the North Pacific Ocean, southwest of Mexico & west of Costa Rica. This ring shaped island has a measure of 12 km as circumference and is a completely enclosed its lagoon. Clipperton has no permanent inhabitants. It is an overseas possession of France. Administration is under the control of minister of overseas France. </p><p> The island has tropical oceanic climate having average temperature of 20-32 degree centigrade. It rains between May to October & the island is subjected to tropical storms. According to Sachet’s visit in 1958, the vegetation is a sparse cover of spiny grass &low thickets, a creeping plant & stands of coconut palm. This low lying herbaceous vegetation looks like pioneer in nature & majority is results of recent species .</p><p> Clipperton lacks in natural resources. Around 115 kinds of fish are identified in the territorial waters. Other than the 700-mile boat voyage & lack of harbor there is no other safer place look.</p><p> A recreational scuba diving expedition by the Liveboard scuba diving vessel Nautilus Explorer was carried at around the reefs of Clipperton from April 15-20, 2007. This was initiated to study latest marine life taking into consideration of earlier data reported.</p><p>
