</p><p>A British overseas territory, British Virgin Islands (BVI) situated in Caribbean towards the east of Puerto Rico. It constitutes the main islands of Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Anegada and Jost Van Dyke along with about 60 semi-tropical Caribbean islands and cays. The biggest island Tortola is approx. 20 kilometer long and 5 kilometer wide. The total population of BVI is around 22,000 out of which approx 75% population live on largest Tortola Island with capital city Road Town. The majority of the population is Afro-Caribbean descended were brought as slaves by the British. The main religion is Christianity dominated by protestant Christians among small percentage of Methodists, Anglicans and Catholics.</p><p> BVI has a mix culture of Carib, Spanish, Dutch, French, Danish and British as it was inhabited time to time by all these since early 16th century to 18th century. Fungi is the traditional music of BVI which is a unique local fusion of African and European music, which often contains humorous social commentaries and BVI’s oral history as well. </p><p> BVI has one of the prosperous economies of the Caribbean nations. Tourism is the main stay of economy which generates around 50% of the total Govt. revenue and also main source of employment. Financial service is the other main business besides Cruise shipping and Agriculture sector. </p><p>
