</p><p>Anguilla is a tiny island in Caribbean Sea with an approximate population of fourteen thousand people and an area of forty square miles. In addition to the main island, some very small islands also form a part of it; some of them are not inhabited. This is a British overseas territory. This is a tropical island with frequent rain and dry climatic conditions.</p><p> The original settlers of this island were Amerininidian a tribe possibly American Indians who have migrated to this island from South America. Travelers and traders from European countries landed there. The English travelers made it a British colony later. It was made British Overseas territory in 1980. It has parliamentary democratic system of government with chief minister as head of the government and elected legislative assembly with multiparty system. </p><p> The island is famous for its tourist potential with the natural sea shores having white sand beaches for sunbathing and for enjoying sunsets. This island has provided all required facilities for tourists. Many tourist attractions like art galleries, historic sites are available. This is a preferred location for American tourists mainly newly married couples for their honeymoon destination.</p><p> The soil condition of this island is not suitable for agriculture. Local people depend on fishing for their lively hood.. The main income is from tourism. Recently there is rapid economic growth in this sector. Insurance and Banking is another area which is flourishing. </p><p>
