</p><p>These are group of islands in northern Europe, between the Norwegian Sea & North Atlantic Ocean & equidistance from Norway, Scotland and Iceland. They have been an autonomous region of the kingdom of Denmark.</p><p> The largest city Torsion is capital of fare. Total island population is around 49000 distributed on 1400sq.mts. majority belongs to ethnic Faroese, of Norse and Celtic descent Faroese is spoken as first language but Danish is taught in school as compulsory second.</p><p> Their industrialization is decentralized in nature therefore country has maintained quite a viable rural culture. Recently shops & services are concentrated at various centers resulting to form thick population around.</p><p> The national holiday Olavsoka is celebrated in capital from 28th to 31st July. All members of parliaments, civil & church officials walk to the cathedral in procession. Celebrations include sports & rowing competitions, pop concerts, Faroese dance. Faroe have their own symphony orchestra part of music scene. Traditional food consists of meat, potato & vegetables.</p><p> Faroe’s economy is almost dependant on fishing which is uncertain, now they hope to broaden their economic base by building latest fish processing plants. As an agrarian society other than fishing the raisin of sheep is another source of business. Recently they have found traces of minerals like petroleum which may help to prosper in future. Since 2000, new information technology & business projects have started attracting new investments.</p><p>
